corner view / best kept secret

This week's corner view is "best kept secret".

The weather in NY is similar to the weather in Japan but I think less humid. Most of Japan gets hot and very humid in the Summer but I like that kind of weather.

These are my favorite things to have....
fuurin (a wind bell)
Geta (wooden clogs)
Kakigouri (shaved ice)

They used to make me feel cooler when I lived in Japan!

** Please check out Spain daily to see other corner views!!

bonnes vacances!

I love your drawings Natsumi!
We have a fuurin hanging on a tree outside, though I did not know the name "fuurin" until now :)... and when I was small I was fasinated with the "geta" sandals and flying fish and would draw them all the time. Reincarnation? Maybe :)

Shaved ice is just delicious, especially when some flavored cream is added! My favorite is coconut, or strawberry!

What is the secret of your beutifully simple and evocative drawings?
PS Did you know that we Italians invented Japanese shaved ice:)?. We call it granita
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granita
and I'm sure it goes all the way back to Roman times:)!

Oh your secrets are so cute!
That makes me think oh my childhood: when I was young (4 years old), a friend of my parents offered me some Geta from Japan! Very little! It was hard for me to walk but also magic!
Thank you Natsumi for your lovely posts! It's always a pleasure!

I love the pictures, their simplicity is so much better than many complicated compositions that I've seen in sketch. I will browse through the blog to see if there are any more of those sweet things :)
