Summer dress

I received a package from my aunt last week.
She sent me some summer dresses which she made in different fabrics.

This dress is the one of them she sent me...

When everytime I go back to Japan, I visit her in
Oita
and I always enjoy spending time with her.

I am thinking of her and miss her a lot...

So pretty. I love Japanese design/sewing books-it's so simple and lovely. Also, there's nothing like receiving presents from back home, I love it!
Have a nice day.

Oh, I love japanese fabrics... This dress is really beautiful! And when you receive a present like this, it must be like Christmas!
With my fabrics, i will sew a dress for my litte daughter, and 2 shirts for my sons... A lot of work!

oh this is so pretty! a traditional japanese pattern with a contemporary twist, isn't it? i once translated a big book on hokusai, which took me six months... there are some textile patterns which he designed for artisans so i read a bit about that. so interesting!

you are so lucky to have a aunt who makes you dresses! :)

That's adorable! But is it for children or adults? I think the style is suitable for both though.

Great design. I love the way that dress stands out from the page, virtually 3-dimensionally.

here in brazil we have a word to describe when we miss someone: Saudade!!
People used to say that only in portuguese there's a word to this feeling.

THis is so beautiful!
I have a fantasy when I am reading your post that I'd like to meet your aunt.
I sometimes imagine doing sewing projects with Japanese fabrics, and somehting about her work feels so close and inspiring.
I have a kind of feeling now that I can't describe, but I somehow sense that maybe I should meet your aunt.
