Aaaah! I was just talking about Beatrice Wood today- she was a fantastic artist & woman. So beautiful at 100! She lived in Ojai where we just visited, the cabin we stayed in was full of her ceramics, sculptures and drawings. I love the pebbles you found. Nice post!
I love pebbles too. I take one home at each travel or very important day. I keep them in a jar. It would be fun to have the quote written on the jar! :o)
I like the progression of your photos, too. The gradual addition of each white pebble, followed by the colored pebbles, and ending with a circle.
The pebbles are so smooth, worn by water? sand? the friction of life as a pebble. And made beautiful in the wearing.
Perhaps our lives are the same - the things that we feel are wearing at the time are actually making us into something beautiful...
Thanks for your always encouraging comments, too. About the glass sphere in my haiku post - it is a large blown glass ornament, sold in a local artisan's gallery here in my town. Here is the link if you're interested:
Beautiful. They don't look real. I bought some very pretty pebbles back from Cornwall. They go with my huge collection of shells from Florida. I love having them all sitting in a big glass dish together, from different parts of the world.
